Areas of expertise include the following: Structures and Foundations: Includes analysis of new and existing structures for working loads, structural additions, and repair. Experience with civil, commercial, & residential structures, excavation, grading, reinforced concrete design, concrete mixture and admixture specifications, structural steel, wood, FRP, and other materials. Seismic analysis and structural design of structures, structural racking, joists, decking, precast concrete, industrial process equipment, piping systems, HVAC systems, electrical support, and pipe support systems. Construction Devices and Methods: Design and evaluation of structural shoring, temporary formwork, falsework, demolition support, retaining walls, excavations, temporary bulkheads, encasement tie-downs, trench box systems, slide rail systems, heavy lift design, rigging, dewatering systems, bypass pumping, life safety devices. Forensic Engineering: Investigation and analysis of failures including finite element analysis, conventional analysis and application of previous experience with building retrofits and repairs. Mechanical Systems: Analysis of supporting structures and mechanical components for process systems. Experience structurally evaluating process piping, pipe supports, pumps, air handling units, compressed air systems, and miscellaneous process systems. Owner Representative Services: Design consulting and administration of construction processes. Extensive experience with review of contract documents, construction means and methods, constructability, schedule evaluation, subcontracting, material procurement, dispute resolution, and quality control. Structural Collapse Specialist: Certified FEMA Structures Specialist 1 (StS1). Member of state urban search and rescue task force with experience in structural collapse evaluation and reinforcement. |
